GDSatcom Prodelin C-Band antennas feature a unique arrangement to quickly convert from Linear polarization (LP) to Circular polarization (CP) in the field in less than 30 minutes.
If the existing feed is LP the feed horn should be removed and the CP tube attached directly onto the LP and then the feed horn is connected to the other end of the CP tube. The new CP feed is longer than the LP feed alone and therefore a feed support bracket should be installed to ensure that the longer, heavier feed is properly supported. The new arrangement can be seen clearly in the drawing below.
